The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber
4.5

Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

Where to start? I love jacks he's an amazing example of the blonde exception. I swear I did not expect to love him this much like *sigh*.
Evangeline, it's a complicated character I love how hopeful and strong. She can be bought at the same time. I think she trusts too easily and sometimes takes too long to realize what is really happening.
But at the same time, it's equally difficult for the reader to realize it.So it's only normal for her.To have that difficulty.
Now, the big problem that comes with the next book is the fact that they are doing one of my most hated tropes, and that's memory loss trope which I hate in most of the books. I think it twist the story too much. But I'm trusting the writer crossing my fingers and we're loving Jacks, so maybe everything will be okay. Hopefully the memory lost isn't too long in the next book and it doesn't turn into an annoying long trope.
Also I hope that just because Evangeline has lost her memories, it does not make her like more dumb and quiet and less of a fighter.
