The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs

This was a re-read for me. Whenever I bake bread, I think of this book and this time I decided to re-read it. I love the characters. Jenny is in such pain and has been for so long. Roarke is the same. Jenny has lost everyone she loved in some way. When her grandmother dies, she is very alone. Roarke had a terrible childhood and really gave up a lot of things. They have a shared trauma that makes them avoid each other. When Jenny needs a place to stay after a fire at her home, Roarke takes her in. Things get really complicated. Both are frozen in place based on their shared history. Each has to face the past and make a decision about what they deserve and want for their future. Very enjoyable.
