Incredibly disappointing. The discussions of trans identities is gross, the treatment of the queer men is gross, there’s white savior moments strung throughout…it’s not good! Honestly I’m being generous even giving it 2 stars. The pacing of the writing is just…odd, too fast in some parts but then unbearably slow in others. Ada’s character is boring and passive. Her motivations (if you can even really say she had any) made no sense for anything. Honestly, don’t waste your time with this book. The concept was absolutely fascinating, but the execution just completely fell through.
