Wow. This book is nothing short of a wild ride. I don’t know how to even write a review of this book without trauma dumping my personal life details because of how deeply this book affected me.
She’s had so many eras in her life, it was clearly a lot to fit into one book. The childhood portion of the book is easier to keep track of the timeline, but one she gets into her twenties, it’s hard to keep track of time. But considering the traumatic events, drug use, and general wild events of her life, I can understand why the timeline speeds up and slows down.
I listened to the audiobook, and Julia’s reading is so heartfelt and beautiful.
Major trigger warning though, if you struggle with drugs, have ptsd or a history of child abuse and/or sexual abuse, this book may be difficult or triggering to read.
5/5 top 5 books I’ve read in 2024.
