Heavy, well-written and eye-opening. I mean, I know the justice system is terrible for survivors, but I had no idea just how widespread sex abuse (and child sex abuse) is in Australia. It was very interesting to read about from a legal perspective, and as someone who grew up in Brisbane at the same time as the author, I felt connected to her and her story.

I do wish that she had explored more into the interaction between sexual assault and wider cultural issues affecting women and girls (e.g. socialisation, hidden pressures and emotional labour), as trauma does not always result from one isolated incident.
