Lease on Love by Falon Ballard

3.0

I was really enjoying this at first. I thought the setup was fun, the friendship group was great, and I liked the setting but the longer I read the more I disliked the main character Sadie. She was very conscious of being a selfish person when it came to the people around her but all of her friends were too selfless and basically told her they loved being used for free labor even when they had personal things going on.

The main male character Jack was essentially just a cardboard cutout of a man. Way too perfect and understanding yet broody with secrets that he eventually overcame through love. Oh and what WAS that 3rd act drama?! Sadie flipped a 180, completely lost all sense of empathy and understanding, and said the worst thing she could to Jack... and for what?!

Oh and my biggest annoyance was instead of this being a "go out and follow your dreams" type book it was a "if you have super wealthy people in your life you can drop all your responsibilities and go after your wildest dreams without any solid plan or financing" sort of book.

I'm probably being too harsh. It's cute but flawed.
