Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton
4.0
I’ve officially fallen for a walking, talking red flag.
Zade Meadows? Yeah. He’s mine now.
He’s unhinged, obsessive, and does some absolutely wild things… but like… when you find out why he does them? Suddenly I’m nodding like, “Okay king, go ahead.”
It’s giving: he might’ve killed someone but hear me out.
There’s always a but, and I’m clinging to it like it’s a love language.
Now I get all the hype around this book. Y’all were so real for being down bad for Zade. I see it now. I feel it now. 😮💨
And don’t even get me started on the nicknames.
Every time he said little mouse or Addie or baby—my heart did a full somersault.
Also: the way H.D. Carlton took her time describing him??? I ate up every word like it was dessert.
Adeline knows Zade’s a total red flag and tries so hard to run the other way—but let’s be real, her feelings keep dragging her right back in. She’s all kinds of confused, scared, and honestly, kinda hooked. Watching her try to figure out what the heck she’s feeling while trying to keep her distance? So messy, so real, and I loved every second. She’s not just falling into his chaos—she’s fighting for control and kinda losing at the same time.
And those little moments? Like why he gives her red roses? The reason behind it is so beautiful and so well written. There are so many of those small touches that make it nearly impossible not to fall for Zade.
🖤 The storyline? Dark and addictive.
🔥 The spice? Was SPICING.
⚠️ The content? Extremely heavy. Please check the trigger warnings. Some scenes are intense and not for everyone.
But if you like your books unhinged, morally grey, slightly feral, and hot enough to ruin your life? Welcome to your new obsession.
4 stars because I’m emotionally unwell and loving it.
Off to read Hunting Adeline🖤
