A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers

5.0

I didn't know cozy sci-fi was a thing, but I found it! Warm, adventurous, and thoughtful, this book was such a treat!

An unlikely pairing of a monk and a robot have a lot to teach us about life and purpose.

I really liked the discussion of purpose and *why* it matters. We choose our purpose in life, and something about society convinces us that we *have* to fulfill our purpose. It's likely a remnant of our distant human past. But fulfilling a purpose isn't what gives our life meaning, it can bring us joy, yes. But life is about more than just achieving something. Life is ours, to sit with, to find purpose, sure, but mostly to enjoy.
