4.0

this book was both good, and made me want to throw it across the room all at the same time. at first, i hated the characters with a passion. the only thing that motivated me to read it, was the plot. also, the entire book was completely sexist. the only reason that i kept reading (and am reading the sequel - family copy) is because the schools interest me - the original idea would have been so great if it didn't have so much sexism in. i don't know how people aren't picking up on it, or maybe they just ignore it, but they are very much there.
characters
sophie- i despised until towards the end. her character development made her interesting and not completely intolerable
agatha- also hated her until around midway through the book. she is now tolerable.
tedros- hate hate hate him. so much. he actually tolerable and i was beginning to like him, but then he made sexist comments.
original idea
the original idea would have been so good, if it weren't for the sexism on every page. if the characters were made more tolerable, then i might have enjoyed it a bit more (i still did enjoy this, but not as much as i would've).
writing style
the writing style was so gripping, that i stayed up until 4 am to finish the book. i just needed to know what happened next.
all in all
if you are looking to buy this book, be wary that it is sexist and that may trigger you.
thanks for reading (i am in no way good at writing reviews, but i hope this got the message across).
