Culture Warlords: My Journey Into the Dark Web of White Supremacy by Talia Lavin

challenging dark informative reflective tense medium-paced

5.0

Part digital ethnography/auto-ethnography combined with journalism and social commentary, Culture Warlords focused on  antisemitism and white supremacy within history and contemplate culture. It’s combination of different research methods was really interesting to me. Some readers may find it fragmented, but I think it highlights the many ways white supremacy and antisemitism has developed and endured, and why it’s important and difficult to challenge. Organized according to subtopics/themes and concludes on the impact and scope of radical activism, Lavin does not sugar coat or shy away from the toll her research and work has taken on herself and mental well-being.
