It's hard to think of a murder mystery as a fun and easy read, but this was. Of course, as the author points out, he's surrounded by cuteness and has trouble getting street cred for being gritty and dark. True that, as they say. I like the overall premise and the story line. Maybe a bit too much time spent on the protagonist's constant harping about "being old" when he's just around 40 - one pictures the author being 20-something and intoning "never trust anyone over 30", but beyond that, an enjoyable read.
