Fast-paced, intriguing, and gut-wrenching.
The older sister’s dedication to protect her younger, wayward sister is visceral and heartbreaking. The dynamics of the sisters and mother are familiar and tender. The struggles of the main character are poignant and bittersweet.
My only critique is that I wish the writing was more elevated. I think this book lost a lot of height in it’s prose; it was capable of a lot more. But it’s still fabulous.
