The Complete Arrows Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey
5.0
I went to the bookstore a few days ago, and I picked up something by an author I had never read before, although one similar to Tamora Pierce. Mercedes Lackey, whose work I had seen before at the library, but had never made much sense - what was first, what was last, what order? Was it even any good? Well, on the last point, I can give a resounding YES! I picked up the entire trilogy, in one book, about Talia, the Queen’s Own, and was swept into the world of Valdemar. It was well worth the money, and I hope to find her other books as good. I think I’ve found a new favorite author. Talia is flawed, but certainly likeable. Her world is complex, but not overwhelming. And the characters as a whole are endearing, intriguing, and all around awesome. The plot is fun, entertaining, and interesting. 5 stars.
