Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire

I was hesitant at first with this book because I had a hard time imagining a mom that could just give up her kid. Even if she did spent 14 years as a fish. And she was just wallowing in the sucky-ness that was her life for the first 25% of the book. Thankfully. Once Evening dies, the story picks up, Toby gets a purpose, and man does it get fun. I have never been so thankful for someone to get killed as I did at the end of this book. I was sad though that the sweet girl who looked up at Toby had to be the one to take him out. 4 out of 5 stars but only because of the beginning. I'm looking forward to the second book!
