by Rainbow Rowell
I am a big lover of romantic novels and movies and that is why I picked this up, because it sounded quite cute. I'm an avid reader and yet this book took me a month to read because it got so BORING. In the end I found I was rushing to finish it just so I could know what happened at the end.
It took me until half way through the book until I started to enjoy it and even then I just wanted to hurry up and finish it.
I loved Eleanor & Park, another YA novel by Rowell but this novel was nothing like it (obviously), but I felt even Rowell's writing had changed.
Overall, this story had weak characters, but the exchanges between Beth and Jennifer were amusing and Lincoln was slightly loveable since he was realistic.
However, I also felt an epilogue of some description would have summarised the ending better than the last few chapters. It felt very rushed and cut short. Not Rowell's best work, in my opinion.
