I'm reading this series *after* watching the BBC show (only the first 2 seasons were based on Cleeves' books) and boy howdy, are there differences! Not complaining though, the show has its strengths, a different medium needs trimmer story lines. This is not a clear-cut "The book was better" situation, but the book was really darn good. I'd like to see the Shetlands.
