Faking Perfection: A Brighton High School Reunion by Shayna Astor

5.0

I loved this book. I really enjoyed that this book was so open about Leslie and Trent's struggles. Marriage can be hard, and this book really spotlighted that. They worked through it together and made their relationship stronger. There is a pressure in our society today to always put on a good face and keep your problems to yourself. Nobody is perfect. I loved that Trent helped Leslie realize that being a stay-at-home mom doesn't mean she didn't do anything with her life. Being a stay-at-home mom is hard because it is a job that you can't clock out of. I'm glad he made her realize that and made her understand that she doesn't have to be involved in things that she doesn't enjoy just because people expect it of her, and she needs to focus on her own needs and her family's needs and not what society expects. Leslie's growth in this book is amazing. That she needs to focus on herself. This book really needs to be more hyped because unlike other romances this one to me feels more real and has a lot less fluff. What a great addition to this series.
