House of Flame and Shadow is the third book in the Crescent City series which follows Bryce whose best friend, Danika is killed. She is tasked with finding out who killed her with the protection of the angel Hunt Athelar. But when she starts to look into Danika's death, she finds herself unraveling the mysteries of her world.
I really enjoyed this third installment of this series. There were times where this book did drag and I liked certain chapters more than others but I thought this was a pretty interesting read. I liked seeing our characters really develop in this book and learn to really trust each other with the situations that they had ended up in. One characters storyline had my jaw on the floor because I really didn't see it coming but I thought it made sense for why they did what they did.
I woudl say the strength of this book for me was definitely Ruhn and Lidia. I loved them so much in this. Every time we got to read from their perspectives I was always so happy and loved seeing them working together with Bryce and the rest of the crew. I am so interested to see how the events of this book are going to impact other books that Sarah writes. I also teared up at the end of this book due to how it ended.
Overall, I thought this was a pretty good book and I am glad that I read it. I'm sad that this series is probably over but I am so excited to read what Sarah comes out with next.
