🇺🇸I was waiting very impatiently for the second book in the Runaway Ranch Series and I’m so happy to be part of Ava Hunter’s ARC team because I read it as soon as I received it.
And it was everything I wanted to read. I was so happy to be back in their little town, their little ranch, their little family. I missed them so much and I loved the glimpse of Charlie and Ruby the author gifted us. Whyatt is still the character I’m rooting for the most but I’ll be patient.
Davis was everything his character promised in book 1. Strong, focused, 100% heart, and all-in in everything he does. He’s completely gone for Dakota and he’s known it for years, since the first time they were (casually, not so casually) seeing each other.
Dakota was such a good surprise as well, watching her transform her whole life and healing was a blessing. I also loved how she learned to love her hometown once more and how she worked so hard to belong here.
I unfortunately saw the plot twist coming a mile away but it was still very good to read. I love second-chance romances so much, and even more when they’re written like this, so full of angst and longing.
Can’t wait for book 3 now!

J'étais tellement heureuse de retrouver leur petite ville, leur petit ranch, leur petite famille. Ils m'ont tellement manqué et j'ai adoré l'aperçu de la vie de Charlie et Ruby que l'auteur nous a donné.
Davis est tout ce que son personnage promettait d’être dans le livre 1. Il est fort, concentré, il a du cœur à 100% et il est à fond dans tout ce qu'il fait. Il est complètement fou de Dakota et il le sait depuis des années.
Dakota a été une très bonne surprise, la voir se transformer et suivre sa guérison a été incroyable. J'ai aussi aimé la façon dont elle apprend à aimer sa ville natale une fois de plus et la façon dont elle travaille si dur pour s’y forger une place.
J'ai malheureusement vu venir le rebondissement de l'intrigue à des kilomètres, mais c'était quand même très agréable à lire. J'aime beaucoup les second-chance romance, et encore plus quand elles sont écrites comme ça, pleines d'angoisse et de nostalgie.
J'ai hâte de lire le troisième tome !
