Wild Tongues Can't Be Tamed: 15 Voices from the Latinx Diaspora
by Saraciea J. Fennell
Wild Tongues can’t be Tamed is a collection of 15 short essays from the Latinx Diaspora. Overall this was an enjoyable read. This book does not need to be read all in one sitting which is what I did. I read a story here and there which allowed me to reflect on each authors experience. As a Latinx community we have a lot to learn and change in order for all our Latinx folks to feel welcomed and safe. I still struggle with my Latinidad as someone who has been told I am not Mexican or Savaldoran enough. These stories assured me that no matter what others may say or think, we are enough.
These for me were 5-⭐️ essays:
- Half In, Half Out by Saraciea J. Fennel
- Haitian Sensation by Ibi Zoboi
- The Land, the Ghosts, and Me by Cristina Arreola
- More Than Nervios by William Rivera
- Invisible by Ingrid Rojas Contreras
