A Girl Like Her by Talia Hibbert

5.0

Ruth is the town's pariah, she rarely goes out and has been punishing herself for something that wasn't her fault. She's so relatable. Always in pyjamas, blunt and honest.

" Ruth's favorite place had always been her head."

Evan is my dream man. His love language is cooking for, even when she insists that she's been surviving just fine before he moved in next door. What's so good is that he likes her as she is. He doesn't want her to be any other way and they just flow so easily.

" But internally, her nerves were a mess, like multiple pairs of earbuds shoved into the same coat pocket. "

Talia Hibbert has such a readable writing and I love some of the images, it's something that just makes the story stand out.

I love that they have secrets and they each reveal them when they're ready. Ruth had to come to terms with her past and she stood tall, by herself. She didn't need a man to save her, to defend her. And the journey was a delight.

We won't talk about Daniel, he can burn in hell. The trashed trash that ever trashed. I hate him with a burning rage.

CW : Past abusive relationship, past death of a parent, cancer.
