“Open your eyes and see what you can with them before they close forever.”

"All the Light We Cannot See" is an extraordinary novel that intertwines the lives of the two young protagonists during World War II: a blind French girl, Marie-Laure, and a German boy, Werner. The narrative is beautifully crafted and a structure that alternates between different timelines and perspectives, which keeps you wanting to read more.

Doerr's descriptions are awesome and brings everything to life. You can totally picture the busy streets of Paris, the strict radio school Werner goes to, and the bombed-out town of Saint-Malo. The characters feel human, and you really start to care about them. Their stories are sad but also show how strong people can be, even when things are really tough.

The changes in the timeline can be a bit confusing sometimes, but they make the story more interesting in the end. The book moves at a nice pace, giving you time to get into the characters' lives without getting boring.

Overall, "All the Light We Cannot See" is a beautiful and touching book that shows how people can find hope even in the darkest times. If you like historical fiction and World War II, with lots of feelings, you should definitely read this book.
