Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Listen. I needed to read this as an adult again to experience this with fresh eyes.

Is this *the* literary achievement of all time? Well, no.

Is it the guilty pleasure romance, mediocre at best, sorta iconic cult obsession of our time? Yes. Yes, it is.

Bella’s decision to pursue a deadly monster may not be a crowd pleaser. But that’s the point. And I think that’s what a lot of people who read this seem to misunderstand: we can’t help who we love.

The book is slow to burn. Stakes get high at the end, finally.

I will read the rest of the series, to say I have.
