Austen undoubtedly portrayed some controversial characters for the time, which make the book all the more interesting as reading it from a 21st century perspective is COMPLETELY different and often humorous. All of her characters are so undoubtedly individual and so human that with all of them comes fault, but they are lovely. There are multiple meanings that you can contrive from this novel they are all so perspective altering it was truly so interesting to read a book written by such a notable author for such a time period. I really enjoyed how she portrayed expectations of women in the 18th century and her obvious opinions of them.
