Beautifully written and brain-breaking. I loved the prose, the careful attention to craft, its philosophical point of view, the easy way Howard wove francophone culture through the text. I loved the way the ∞ valleys' storylines intricately locked together and the questions and concerns they raised in my own mind. Read to be quietly provoked, and then maybe wait 20 years and read it again.
