I didn’t have super high hopes for this book, I expected it to be a light beach read to distract me from the real world. However, it disappointed me anyways. While I usually read books in a day or two, hooked and unable to put them down, I almost gave up on this book altogether. It essentially was 350 pages of the sisters complaining about the same things over and over until finally they took initiative to change things in the last 50 pages, and yet they didn’t “find themselves” they simply found men. Maybe I could’ve given this book four stars had there not been blatant descriptions, maybe even encouragement of disordered eating. I thought surely this was going to be addressed at some point and Finola would get some help, but as it turns out, there was literally zero point to the inclusion of disordered eating other than to describe that it makes you skinny and makes people like you more?? Disappointing.
