Thinner by Richard Bachman
3.0

Not one of King's stronger works, Thinner struggles from being at least 50 pages too long and lacks a charismatic or likable protagonist. Halleck is a fine character for much of the book but his whining and unwarranted blame he places on his wife makes him easy to hate. I still fail to understand the animosity he held for his wife to do something that horrible to her and the ending makes an already mediocre book even less enjoyable.
