missindie 's review for:
The Remedy
by Suzanne Young
I literally started and finished this book in a singular sitting. I adored the first two books in this series, but hesitated to continue reading after finding out they follow other characters and their story arcs. I'm so insanely glad I came back to it!!!!
First of all, the authors mind just amazes me. I love the dystopian and slightly off putting nature of these treatments methods and how we're getting to see its birth in real time. Plus the plot twists were just hitting one after another towards the end here.
SPOILERS AHEAD
I did predict that Quinlan might not have been her true self, but the reasoning behind it and the reveal of Deacon being her handler (which i'm still in denial about) ???? Just amazing. I also was just so intrigued to see the journey of her losing herself in this role; those scenes were written so well!!!
Part of me wants to revisit the original 2 books to see what references I may have missed since it's been so long.
I was getting a little annoyed with Quinn towards the end where she kept making dumb decisions. Like girl who just walks into an open apartment all la-dee-da and SITS ON THE COUCH CASUALLY?!?! I felt like a person yelling at a horror movie as if the characters could hear me. Luckily, I wasn't annoyed for too long because Deacon found her and, if I just ignore the last few paragraphs, I can imagine they just had a happily ever after ending. <3
I'm both excited and nervous to read the book that follows and even more nervous after that to have to say goodbye and finish the series with a whole new set of characters after falling in love - yet again - with these ones BUT I SHALL DO WHAT I MUST
