Power Bottom? by Rowan McAllister

4.0

~ Narration Rating: 5 Stars ~

On the last night of his relationship, Adrian’s car breaks down and he and his whiny boyfriend have to march through a rural area to find a place to call for a tow and a ride ack to civilization. Relief floods Adrian when they discover that the “biker bar” they found is actually a gay bar. It gets even better when a hot and sexy older man openly flirts with Adrian.

A few days later, Adrian has been dumped. He’s been told he’s boring, he’s annoying, and he’s a bad lay. After his boyfriend leaves, Adrian drives back out to the rural bar looking for Wyatt—and maybe some adventure, maybe something else. So, when he does find Wyatt and explains he is no longer attached, Adrian and Wyatt combust. They rush out of the bar and to the nearest hotel where…things don’t go exactly as planned, but the sparks remain. Adrian is almost never a bottom, but with Watt the sex is so intense and so fulfilling, the idea that he’s a bad lay starts to get washed away. What starts out as no-strings-attached fun quickly becomes something both men may have been missing their entire lives. Adrian needs to gain confidence, and Wyatt needs a reason to stay put. Each man rescues the other, and the specifics of who does what in bed is replaced with true love and affection.

Nick Russo once again gives his full talents to this narration. All of the things listeners have come to expect when they see his name on the narration line are on full display here. You will not be disappointed. There’s a mystery involved in both the main and the subplot. Each has its own pace and characters, and Russo makes every bit of the story pop. The complete story gives him so much material to work with that you may want to listen to it several times to fully appreciate the nuances of his talented voice and richness of the characters he renders here.

Buy the book for the story and for the top-level narration. Look for the names of both the author and the narrator on future books for what surely will be a fun ride.
