'Even the apocalypse isn't the end. That, you could only know when you're standing before a light so bright it obliterates you. And if you are alone, posed like a dancer, when it comes, you feel silly and scared. And if you are with your family, or anyone at all, when it comes, you feel silly and scared, but at least not alone.'
-Through the Flash (favorite story)

This short story collection is the best one I have ever read. Adjei-Brenyah does a fantastic job at writing about Blackness and being Black in the world to post apocalypse to consumerism and capitalism and how that's killing us, showing it to us in a literal sense.

Every single story was a 4 or 5 stars except one, but even with that 3 star story, this is 5 star collection without a doubt in my mind. Please read this if you already haven't!
