No More Boats by Felicity Castagna

5.0

I love the trick photography of this cover. I felt called out by all the ex-teacher-isms. I love the way the book makes you feel like it represents just one of many many Western Sydney families, with all their gripes, strengths and weaknesses equally valid and worth hearing about. It doesn't feel like a definitive statement, but it meets its complex political themes with adequate narrative complexity.
