He, She and It by Marge Piercy

4.0

Sci-fi at it's best. Even though this book is about a futuristic world of robots and telepathy it is really about issues in our own time relating to gender stereotypes, racism, and conformity. Not exactly a happy story, but definitely a stirring one. Encourages you to look at the world differently and consider what is really important in life. It also works as a pretty accurate argument against the way we use technology to escape reality, and demonstrates how we have become so alienated from the idea of basic human contact, family and friendship.
