Welcome to Bone Town by Thea Masen, Clover Holloway

5.0

Knots, Spice, and a Whole Lot of Chemistry

Welcome to Bone Town is the omegaverse lovechild of Indiana Jones and The Mummy, and yes, it absolutely whips. It's a sharp, wildly entertaining blend of adventure and omegaverse heat, with just enough heart to balance its chaos. Thea Masen and Clover Holloway clearly had fun with this one, and if you like your omegaverse with humor, heat, mythology, and booby traps, you’re in for a hell of a ride. I can't wait for more books in this series.

Omega archaeologist Cora finally gets her shot at uncovering the lost temple of Lunara, but instead of solo glory, she’s stuck leading the dig alongside a grumpy alpha professor who barely tolerates her. Add in a burly ex-military security guard, a sweetly awkward beta scientist, and a rogue treasure hunter, and things get complicated quickly, and that's before they fall into an ancient underground temple with no way out. And no scent blockers.

Trapped in the dark, ancient ruins with rising heat (in more ways than one), the team has to navigate deadly traps, divine magic, and unexpected attraction. Cue the tension. Cue the chaos. Cue the knots. Cue all the spice.

Highlights include:
Forced proximity and “why choose” dynamics (MMMFM)
Rival professors to lovers, with sizzling tension
Found family and emotionally grounded pack bonds
Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?
A temple with more traps than Roman’s emotional defenses

Besides the spice (and there’s plenty) the emotional arcs land just as hard. Each character brings something different to the group, and Cora holds her own as a capable, driven Omega and scholar who's not here for anyone’s alpha nonsense.

This book belongs in a museum—but I’d rather keep it on my Kindle.
