A really interesting read and one that reinforces my belief that success in sport is at least 50% due to your mental strength. Chrissie Wellington is clearly an exceptional and unique athlete but it was interesting to also read about her struggles with body image and eating disorders. She also comes across as a committed and passionate advocate of international development and of grass roots sport/athletes which is refreshing in a world champion athlete. I find triathlon a hard sport to be a part of at times but reading the story of someone like Chrissie is incredibly inspirational.

I was very glad that the edition of this I read didn't have what sounds like an incredibly patronising foreword by Lance Armstrong. I'm also surprised that some other reviewers seem to have expected a training manual rather than an autobiography - she's very explicit in saying that everyone's training needs are unique.
