I loved book one, so why isn’t this a five star too? My main issue is that I felt like this was too long. I spent the last two or three HOURS of the book thinking ok time to wrap this up.

This next part ranges in to spoiler territory. Ye be warned!

My other main issue is that book one got me invested in Alistair and Isobel as romantic interests. I ended book one having hope that they would come back from it. Then, here in book two they are like nope, let’s give them both other romantic interests. I don’t do well when authors decide to do this in their series (SJM in ACOTAR I’m looking at you 😤). Anyway!!! At some point I did start to come around. But then Alistair and Gavin ticked me the heck off torturing Reid. 😡 because I liked Reid. I felt like everything got cleaned up too nicely at the end too. And Briony?! It fit though still folking rudeeeeee. But, I felt it should have also been Alistair. Sorry not sorry.
