My Friend Dahmer (Movie Tie-In Edition) by Derf Backderf
3.0
3.5 stars
It's really hard to rate this book. I don't read a lot of true crime, but I just had to pick this one up. I was intruiged from beginning to end, and I learnt a lot of new information, and it felt like a nice insight into his early life.
It was really interesting too see a gilmpse of his life leading up to his murders, and at times I almost felt sorry for him. There were moments when I sided more with Dahmer, than with the narrator.
If you're looking to gain more information on his murders, this won't help. However if you're interested in the events previous to his murders, this is quite insighful.
So what am I grumbling about?
Well, at times it just felt too vague, and almost as if the narrator wasn't sure about all the information.
The author's word choice just really got on my nerves at times. At times I could see the reasoning behind them, but, in the end, it just annoyed me too much.
