“Love today, and seize all tomorrows!”

I first came across this book because an ex BEGGED me to watch a video essay about it. Back then, I fell asleep 10 minutes into the video, forcing me to watch something this strange while I'm suffering from a migraine won't do both of us any good lol, but the next day I got intrigued and managed to finish the entire thing. It didn’t really pique my interest back then, as I was in my spicy BookTok era. But now I’m in a cosmic horror mood, and I miss reading about entities destroying worlds for shits and giggles.

Weird and terrifying is an understatement for this book. I admire C.M. Kosemen’s creativity when coming up with these post-humanist creatures: beings who communicate by defecating on each other, sentient mounds of flesh, tool breeders, etc.?! I also admire his optimism, reading this book is somehow nerve-wracking yet comforting. At the end of the day, humanity will seep through the cracks. There might come a time when we get tortured and genetically modified by terrifying aliens, but at the end of the day, we will still sing our songs, share our meals, and write our poems.

Also, I finished this during my shift. I love stealing company time YIPEE!
