sad slow-paced

I am not in the habit of bashing books, because I respect the courage, drive, and stamina it takes to write and publish your own work.

But this book is worthless. Zero stars.

The “author” is not a named individual, but a social media handle. How cowardly, not to identify yourself and claim responsibility for the work.

Visually, the book is ugly and poorly designed.

Technically, the book is riddled with grammatical errors, poor writing, and sloppy construction.

Intellectually, the book lacks depth of thought. It is an oddly ordered collection of quotes and anecdotes pilfered from others who have written and/or spoken about productivity and discipline. On occasion, the unknown author injects an “I” statement, as if to indicate an original thought; but not once did these observations lend credibility or value to the work.

Emotionally, the book is a downer from start to finish. How odd to publish a self-HELP book with such a negative slant. Essentially, the message is this: You’ll die. Maybe very soon. So don’t waste a minute. Do stuff.

The ability to attract a significant following on social media does not mean you’ll write a good book. It does mean you can promote your own bad book alongside some truly good books in order to generate sales. The “author” adds another channel/revenue stream. The reader gets nothing of value.

If a kick in the pants is what you need, then skip the whole book and read just the last line. I’ll save you the cost of the book and include that line here:

“Time is running out. Start living.”
