The Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain
4.0
Satan is a fascinating character in almost every work I've seen him portrayed. The idea of an angel or even all angels lacking the knowledge of Good and Evil paints these Uber beings in a more realistic light. It makes sense that he doesn't care about our day to day and finds all the drama to be just petty squabbles of nearly mindless animals.
Twain reiterates here his belief in determinism and as a result, our lack of free will. One thing he failed to establish though is why Satan wants to interact with the people of this village at all. It was a fun read either way
