I really like Avery Flynn's writing, but this was a little harder to listen to, I think because having a main character who is described at worst...ugly, or at best, not traditionally beautiful, is hard because it is just so unusual. If you think about the psychological toll of being told every day that you aren't beautiful, geez, that would just kill your spirit.
