honestly i wish i liked this more.
the concept was interesting, it had potential but it just all felt like it was not quite fleshed out.
the characters weren't explored super in depth and even the ethics of the magic system were mostly glossed over. i would have loved to see the actual consequences of taking too much time rather than just being told that it would be bad.
also would have loved to see more of the other families' powers, but maybe there's more in book two. the love triangle could have been a lot more explored as well, though i understand that this is not a romance novel.
