Short Stories from Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies by J.K. Rowling
5.0
This collection of short stories is one of the three new books in the series Pottermore Presents (and they are only available in ebook format).
In these short stories we get additional information about 4 characters: Minerva McGonagall, Remus Lupin, Sybill Trelawney and Silvanus Kettleburn (to refresh your memory a bit - Silvanus was the Care of Magical Creatures teacher before Hagrid). My initial expectation was that all the characters would get roughly the same amount of pages in the book, but deep down I was sort of hoping that Remus would get a bit more (because I love him okay, he's one of my faves). My hopes were luckily not shattered because for most of the book you're basically reading about McGonagall and Remus, which is understandable, you know, they sort of are fan favorites. Still, I don't think it's quite fair that McGonagall and Remus get like 80% of the book and Silvanus gets barely a page or two.
Overall it's your typical JK Rowling style, nothing we haven't seen before. It's quite short and easy to read so you can easily read it on your daily commute without reading the same page over and over again in frustration. I'd definitely recommend it to any fellow Harry Potter fans.
But beware, McGonagall and Remus' stories are quite sad, if not even depressing at times. God, I loved reading about them, I really did, but the sadness factor is just so strong with these two that I can't even. You just want to hug them and shower them with flowers and affection, but every next page just brings something even worse. But oh well, what can you do.
