Drowning
by T.J. Newman
Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for 2023!
First time I've ever had a book on all 3 formats. It was life changing!
I found 'Drowning' about a month ago at my local Big W, the cover sucked me in so I purchased. Finally picked it up a few days ago AND HOLY SHIT. This book actually sent chills down my spine, the writing is amazing and the description REALLY has it feeling like you're there in the moment. T.J. Newman was added to the list of my favourite authors when I was only at Chapter 4. The book jumps between passengers which I absolutely LOVED, it really helped form a bond with each of them instead of just the main characters.
6 minutes after take-off, flight 1421 is ditched into the Pacific Ocean. Some passengers are able to get off the plane until an engine explodes causing the plane to flood and then 12 passengers are trapped on board. The plane then sinks and is stuck on an underwater cliff.
The book is centred around Will, an engineer and his 11 year old daughter Shannen (who are among the 12 souls stuck on board), Chris, who is Will's soon to be ex wife and Shannen's mum, is a professional diver. After many attempts by the navy for rescue end up failing, is Chris able to save Will and Shannen as well as the remaining 9 passengers?
Times running out, oxygen is running low.
