The Riddle by Alison Croggon
3.0
This is probably my least favorite book in the series--I want less time traveling/describing the landscape and more time in Arkan-da with the Winterking. I think thirty pages is not enough time for Maerad to develop the feelings she has. The pacing here is pretty funky.
That being said, Cadvan's "death" and their reunion at the end are beautiful and absolutely make this book. I think the heart of these books is their relationship, and even though I've read these before and know Cadvan is alive, it still hurts to read Maerad's grief for him.
