Going Wild by Lisa McMann

4.0

Charlie Wilde is less than thrilled to be moving from the house she lived in her whole life in Chicago to Arizona. Her new school is really small and she misses her friends from home. When she finds a mysterious bracelet inside a box addressed to her while unpacking, she puts it on. That's when things start to become really strange. At soccer tryouts not only does she run faster than she ever has before, she also heals really quickly from an injury. When she starts to lift things with an almost super-human strength, Charlie understandably becomes a bit freaked out. Luckily, her two new friends, Maria and Mac, are there to help unravel the mysteries. Where did the bracelet come from? How does it work? And most importantly, why her? A great start to what looks to be a fantastic new series. Recommended for grades 4 & up.
