Bad Witch by Lauren Dawes

fast-paced

5.0

This is book two in this series and I’m loving all the snark and sass. The stories are clever and it’s an interesting world being built.

In this book Cat, a human assigned to the Paranormal Investigation Group (yup, PIG) and her partner Sawyer, an incubus, are looking for a serial killer witch. The paranormals are all new to Cat so she’s getting on the job training every time she comes across something new. In this way, the author does a great job of world building for the reader.

The story is suspenseful and cleverly builds for the next book. There’s a steamy sex scene as the kinda sorta romance between Cat and Sawyer builds and there is A LOT of UST. Lots of will they or won’t they hangs over the story arc. We learn more about Cat’s background and a few tidbits about Sawyer. I’m still not clear on why the Fae Kailon isn’t in prison given his role in The Reveal. No explanation given.

I’ll be diving right into book three as this series is definitely a binge read.
