It isn’t as big as the books Sanderson had written, but it makes sense as this is just a story. 

This is a one-shot story describing a training session with Kelsier and his mentor Gemmel. It was fast and a fun read. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge to understand it but with the knowledge it adds another layer of depth to Kelsier’s character.
