Splinters: A Memoir by Leslie Jamison

I feel weird rating & reviewing memoirs so I avoid it but this one was interesting. I think it might be the most honest memoir I’ve read—Jamison admits to what feels like all of her most embarrassing (and delusional) thought processes, even the quotidian ones. Some of which I also have so this irked me deeply. Her self awareness was kinda bracing but it came up against what I can only describe as her …caucasity… and this feels like an overdone criticism but it’s true so I will point it out anyways. I guess.

Judging solely by the sheer depth of honesty I would give this a 5/5.

But writing wise I’d say 3.5/5.
