Another APA month read!
This was GREAT and really scratched my itch for a horror story!
It was creepy af and the illustrations definitely fit the bill and added such an unsettling atmosphere to the whole thing.
I also loved how the creators included their pitch package at the end so we can see the publication process.
The commentary on race, religion, and whiteness was a bit convoluted. I wasn't sure what the author was trying to say other than yeah, race is complicated.
As a WOC, I understand where Aisha and Medina were coming from, but I didn't really understand the woke white guys in the story. (Not that I understand woke white guys irl when they play devil's advocate with race, so I guess this is true to life.)
But other than that, I'd recommend this if you're looking for a horror read with really creepy illustrations.
