Incredible slow and hard to push through at times as even the chapters are quite long. Pausing inbetween, especially for a few days, is a death sentence. Even compared to other Dune book, there is a lot of talking with little plot. The pace is accelerating towards the end, but the first 4/5 of the book are just very tedious to get through.
